HOME Ibarguren is a municipality belonging to Asparrena, the meaning of which is “Edge of the fertile plain” The first appearances of the name Ibarguren date back to the year 1025, lending its name to the current church of St. Martin which contains inscriptions dating back to Roman times. We should draw attention to the Roman stone in the portico of the church that may now be seen covered with plant and geometric motifs in the Archaeological Museum. You will be able to enjoy this Alava village by staying in an authentic house in the Basque region with great charm - “Legaire etxea” – where you will be delighted by the natural landscapes of the north together with unbeatable historical surroundings, as well as practising different sports surrounded by nature. 500 metres from the N1 main trunk road, close to the Aitzgorri nature reserve, 20 minutes from Urbasa, 10 minutes from Alsasua, 10 minutes from Agurain and 25 minutes from Vitoria. AMENITIES Legaire etxea has large common areas such as a large lounge-dining room, fireplace and grill, with access to the garden that boasts a fine fig tree affording shade. A fully-equipped kitchen, shared bathroom, all suitably adapted for disabled guests. Its rooms are fully equipped with en suite bathrooms, plasma TV screen, piped music, Wi-fi connection and heating. We also have a cot available. The house is equipped with thermal plates for heating two 700 litre tanks, meaning our guests will always have hot water available. If guests so wish, the house also has an industrial washing machine and drier. At the back part of the house is an area where guests that carry out sports activities may clean their material. We have a fine fig tree in the garden that bears fruit every 2 years that can be picked. There is also a children’s playground in the village with swings.
